You can unlock seasonal items by completing its one-time quest. Around fifty years ago, the enmity between the League of Lost Bastards and the followers of Rycharde Mistbeard came to a head off the coast of eastern La Noscea. In addition to the mount, the players can unlock some new and returning items using Faire Vouchers that are earned by completing the event-themed FATE near Costa del Sol, La Noscea. There are not many bear mounts you can unlock on FFXIV, since most of them are purchased in the Mog Station. This event is the perfect opportunity to add one more to your collection. How to get the Polar Bear mount on FF XIV It also features the unique action Crystal Ice to summon a circle of ice, chilling the whole area for a few seconds. The Polar Bear mount is very easy to unlock on FFXIV. Start the quest Unseasonable Chills, given by the Lalafell Mayaru Moyaru in the Upper Decks of Limsa Lominsa (X: 11.5 / Y: 13.8).Here are the steps to get the cute mount: It requires you to have reached level 30, however. ![]() Redeem your quest and complete the next one to earn the Polar Bear Horn, which will allow you to permanently unlock the mount.Wait for the event-themed FATE to appear.Follow the steps of the quest, which will bring you to Costa del Sol.It can be accessed quickly by teleporting to the Aftscastle. There are also a few other items added with the event, mainly to decorate your garden: the Moonfire Mask Stall, the ice dessert Costa del Hielo, and the Grilled Corn. These can be purchased for Faire Vouchers, earned through completing the event-themed FATE by talking to the Moonfire Faire Vendor, the questgiver NPC in Costa del Sol. Here are all the purchasable items of the event: Using crab balls however harbor herrings bite all the time. Not so much an issue with the quest, but a bug with the bait. Goby ball is listed for ocean fishing and is above the level of harbor herring, so they need to fix the bait. EDIT: they seem to have ninja fixed it in this update, because goby balls started working. I also had a non-elemental magic ability called Spirit Dart which does not use MP.Here is the dedicated page for the event. I noticed there are a lot more spells available at early levels than in FFXI, for example I had all of the first tier of elemental magic right from the start. I made it to level 4 Conjurer by completing guildleves and killing a few random monsters along the way. I found the guildleve system fun, and I can only imagine how much fun the more complex leves will be at higher levels. They are designed to help the player ease into the game and get the hang of things. The leves available to me at my level were quite basic, in the form of go out and kill X amount of monsters, but early quests in any game are never complex or difficult. I then thought I would check out the guildleve system. A search feature would be a great addition and I can see Square Enix improving the system. It can be difficult to find specific items. ![]() But I could see why some people do not like the system. The system looks like it has potential, after all being able to sell items in a bazaar while you are not logged in can only be good. After hiring my Retainer I was able to enter the market ward areas. I decided to head over to the market wards and see what they are like because it seemed to be a topic debated often on fan sites. Camera movement keys can be set to arrows in the retail version so this will be good news if you don ot like change. The camera also seemed to move the opposite way to what I expected, but that was easily sorted in the configuration settings. The controls were a bit difficult to get the hang of because I am used to using the arrow keys for camera movement in FFXI and had to get used to using the IJKL keys instead in FFXIV. After finding my way out of the starting location I decided to explore the town and try get used to the controls. After going through the opening cutscene I was thrown into Limsa Lominsa for the first time. I was disappointed that there was not many hairstyles to choose from but I was still able to create a character I was happy with. ![]() I started the beta by creating a Hyur called Xenor Vernico on the Jecht server, you can see him in the screenshot of the left. Unfortunately I did not get to spend much time on the beta due to hardware issues, which remain unsolved. Some are from the guildleve system and there’s even a map thrown in. We recently got our hands on a beta key for the closed beta, so I was finally able to play it! I have taken some beautiful screenshots from the La Noscea region, some of which are from parts you may not have seen much of.
